So playing outdoor gigs in South Florida, without a hat equals burning eyes from perspiration dripping down into my eyes. I need to wear a hat with no hair to soak up the perspiration. Sounds sexy, huh?
Anyway. I look rediculous in all hats except for an Ivy Cap worn backwards. Besides. It beats seeing a shiny bald head boppin' around the stage.
Not sure what an Ivy Cap is? Look here: http://www.menshats.com/category/ivy-caps/1
Hmmm... Maybe I look rediculous regardless of the type of hat.

Ever since my first pro gigs I've been a fan of the chapeau as part of my stage costuming. Very effective way to let the audience know at a glance what to expect during the show. Girls never seemed to mind... |

| | | I usually wear a black baseball cap for the first couple songs, then I leave it on my amp.

| | | | I'm 55. The two guitarists in my band are old farts too. They wear hats. They have significant baldness issues. I have a full head of nice looking hair. I don't wear hats. |

I myself have never really been a hat wearer either. I will wear them only on rare occasion and never on stage or while playing. Worn sunglasses a few times because of outdoor gigs. Honestly though who cares...it's just opinion's...and women's opinions at that |

New Orleans finest. Mr. Meyer will talk your leg off if you go into the store. |

| | | | I am highly amused by all the people who think they are pulling off hats and shorts. C'mon guys. I very occasionally wear a top hat, but only as part of a coordinated ensemble.
