BASS QUITTERS ON CRAIGSLIST

Sign in to disble this ad
I'd like to take this moment to personally thank all you bass quitters, dads who bought top-of-the-line for your promising high schooler, and guitar players who thought bass was gonna be easier than guitar.

Why?? Because you've created a plethora of new and semi-new basses out there(ooops, forgot to mention amps too!)for us serious guys to choose from at low to bargain basement prices.

I'd also like to thank Guitar Center for creating an environment of rock n' roll stardom for Dad and Junior in the bass department. And for repeating the mantra "bass is easy" to unsuspecting teens. You've made it a pleasure to shop and bargain and lowball online.

Thank you all again, from the bottom of my heart.

Order of difficulty:

1. Mandolin
2. Guitar
3. Banjo
4. Bass

More strings make harder instruments, Guitar Center told me so!

LOL! That innocent, unsuspecting high school soon-to-be rock star never realized that you actually had to put down the video game, get off the skateboard, turn off the TV and practice! Bummer dude!

Either that, or he figured it was an easy switch from Guitar Hero.

LOL Come on, you guys have got to admit bass is easyer to learn than guitar. Depending what you play! i mean you can get by on playing the same 1 note all the way through a bar and still sound good to jo public

Just how much time you put in

old saying iv read on here a few times

Easy to learn/play bass but hard to master one (something along those lines)

but yeah, thank you all the same

I don't know if guitar is harder than bass, and I don't care.
All I know is the sound that a guitar makes sounds girly to me.

Yes, god bless spoiled teenies and their rich parents.

Being both a guitar player and a bass player, I certainly wouldn't say bass is easier. I would say to be mediocre at either is pretty easy. To be a good bass player is probably harder than being a good guitarist if for no other reason than once you learn a boatload of chords it is merely rote memorization. Bass lines are often much more detailed.

I can tell you that it is much easier to sing while playing guitar than it is to sing while playing bass. And in any respect, wanking away on 4 chords is much easier than repetitively walking the same bass scale, in time.

Thanks Craigslist!

I found a guitarist on Craigslist who thought bass was gay. For $30, he gave me this uncool instrument, and it included a really nice padded gig bag. $300 in parts later, she growls with unholy P Bass tone only a mother could love.

From this:

Thanks Craigslist!

lol na being serious. I should probally stop here!

i love playing bass and i dont wish to change to another instroment. i also have 3 so im pretty in to it and im not just a pick up and play when iv got nothing else to do player. i also have a guitar.

But in my opinion. bass can be a lot easier i think.

sure there's no deigning there are some awesomely wicked bass lines and im by no means saying there isnt or putting a downer on the ones out there

i think id be better saying its easyer to 'get by on a bass' then a guitar but harder to be awesome on a bass than it is a guitar!

something along them lines

That may be fairly accurate, largely because the guitar is the most prominent in the mix.

I agree with all of this ^^

To the OP: Hell yeah, $20 basses are really awesome projects!

Yeah I agree, I play both and singing and playing guitar is a lot easier than singing and playing bass.

I don't think bass is easier than guitar because just as easily as you can hang out on the root, you can learn three chords on guitar and play a million songs. They are both easy and hard, but in different ways. Its silly to compare two musically, technically, and functionally different instruments.

Why don't people lump the piano and dulcimer(did I spell that right?) together? Both involve hammers hitting strings making sound.
