Bass Quotes

I'm looking for bass quotes done by bass players or other musicians like: "Never mistake a rut for a groove" - Willie Weeks
or:" Three little words, Bass means low" - Lester Young

can anyone contribute some good ones?

Thanks!

There is an old thread (2004) on Bass Quotes; but it would be interesting to try to add some new ones.
Bass quotes...

However, my favorite from the old thread remains
"Every time I see a fine lady shaking her rump to the band, I know I am doing my job. I like to pretend that my bass is a remote control for the booty. Oh yeah, the bass is in control of the bottom."
- Talkbass's own Jive1 (this became his sig due to popular demand)
