| | | | The show is called "K-on!", and it's pretty much the most popular anime in Japan (and elsewhere!) right now.
They've just started airing the second season, but here are a few interesting facts about the first:
- The highest selling TV show of 2009
- Kyoanis most successful franchise ever, bigger than even "Haruhi"
- The second and third best selling Bluray in Japan after Evangelion
- 700,000 CDs sold so far; never before has an album credited to 2D characters topped the Oricon charts
- 50% of the fanbase is female
- Nominated for "Kohaku uta Gassen"
- Being considered for a live action drama adaption on TBS
- Received the Kobe award for 'Don't say Lazy' (ending song)
- THE FIRST ANIMATED TV SHOW DIRECTED, WRITTEN AND ANIMATED BY AN ALL-FEMALE STAFF |

Hey, don't worry about it, man. Welcome to talkbass.
As for Cagayake Girls, here's my absolute favorite version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpwDye7-W8w
It's by a guy named sofdancho. He used to have this video on his youtube channel, but removed it for something reason. I uploaded it just for you!
It's still on his NicoNicoDouga page, but I want to respect whatever his reason was for removing it from Youtube.
As such, this video will remain here for only a very limited period of time.
Download it while you can! |

And as a fan I love this show and some of the songs of this series are in my opinion a good challenge to play in the bass, I'm stuck right now on Curry Nochi Rice. |

COMMENCE FRIENDSHIP.
Damn, never thought I'd bump into a fellow K-On!(!) fan so quickly, especially considering the TB's usual demographic.
Are you playing Curry Nochi Rice with a pick or fingers?
Gonna need so much speed on that one.
I'm practicing Cagayake (along with half of japan) myself.
I cannot for the life of me play this stuff smoothly enough.

Perfect for waking up a bunch of slackers that don't want to practice. |

I know hit new series for anime come out like every other week, but this one's something you just shouldn't miss.
The bassist character is the star of the show!
She literally has a following of worshipers, so it was no surprise when they started selling expensive figures of her. (bottom one looks kinda shoddy) |

Ha, I hear you. I've always wanted to upload my own stuff, but I'm never satisfied enough with my playing. So damn embarrassing.
The mask thing seems like a method of iconizing yourself among the thousands of musicians on the internet. I've seen things from this guy's chrome mask, Clinton, and a damn horse head.
Wonder what halloween leftovers I could use for myself when the time comes! |

| | | SCANNING FOR BROS.
Hey, you guys really need to check this show out. I could always use some more bros from TB.
That is, if cutesy moe-blob high school anime is okay with you...
PM me if you need help finding where to watch it.
In the meantime, I'm logging off with some last few shots of our bassist: | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
