Dallas Circus

<<wow I'm glad I did a search>>

I caught the circus in Dallas on Sunday. The bassist was great. Way better than I would have expected, and mixed in the PA so you could hear him when it mattered. Great show.

Circus was in town here a couple weeks ago. I'm sure it was Micheal T Brown on bass and he was awesome.

Here's Mike discussing some of the equipment he's using on the gig.

That, to me, is the essence of what being a musican (not just a Bass player) is - the ability to "play any kind of music and do it flawlessly".

....and I have played in a Circus Band - Circus Krone in Munich (Germany) January - March 1986.

I took lessons about 10 years ago with Rusty Springfield, who played with Ringling Bros. for a long time (I think about 7 or 8 years), I would guess late 80's through mid 9-'s. Great player, he was in NJ for a little while but as far as I kow he is living in Florida again. Bass Player did a little blurb on him because he used a 7 string for the circus gig, which at the time was unheard of. I haven't seen the circus in at least 25 years, but now that I have little kids it is only a matter of time, so I'll be sure to catch the band this time.
