...because their own car won't fit all of their gear.
Ranger pick-up. I can fit either my amp...or my guitar in the cab. And I am morally opposed to forcing either to ride in the bed.

I put my combo and cab in the bed, but can squeeze them into the cab if it is foul out. My wife plays upright. We have a GEO prism with the front passenger seat removed. An amp, bass, and the two of us can fit with me driving, and her in the rear seat behind me.

I just traded in my Chrysler 300 for a Honda CR-V - it's got plenty of space for my rack, 410, and the small PA... and much easier to load!
My wife's tryin' to steal MY car! LOL |

Friends don't let friends drive Fords, etc.

They have a lot of room, low load floor, four-wheel drive, they are excellent daily drivers, and most have privacy glass to hide my gear. Great vehicles.

Amazing but true, no minivan required. A hatchback car will hold a LOT of stuff- Europeans have known this for years.
To the OP: maybe get a cap for the Ranger? |

Guitars, rack in the cab, and cabinet in the bed.
If working for a band, me, merchgirl, and soundguy up front, band in the back seat.
If on tour, Their stuff in the trailer, my stuff at home unless they need something then it's in the trailer too.
