Being the Wingman

Now I know most of you have been the "wingman" once or twice. I recently had a "guys" weekend for golf. We're all hangin' at the sports bar when in walk these two gals....one was SMOKIN' HOT!!. Her buddy was cute, but not my flavor. Both parties were checking each other out. Being the married guy, I figure I'll wingman for my single friends to hook up with the hottie. Night goes on, they're all slamming shots and getting very liquid. It seems my once boys with serious game had lost it. NO GAME AT ALL. Two and a half hours later, I bailed back to the hotel and told them I wanted some good stories tomorrow. Morning comes and everyone comes back a big ZERO! I don't think I could have set them up any better. ***. I had to express my disappointment in them. I hate when that happens.

Sometimes being a wingman means pushing your buddies too. Challenging them and being creative about it.

But all in all it's not your fault if they get nowhere.

What it all boils down to is thinking to yourself that if this chick were laying in bed naked and waiting for you, would you say no to her?

If you can answer yes, game over. Pack it up and go home. If you wouldn't say no to her though...

True. I did kinda nudge them to dance, etc., etc. Can't do it for them.

Being a wingman is all about keeping the party going, the girls having fun, avoiding %$/"-blocking situations (friends of mark getting tired, other guys moving in for the kill, etc.) while keeping the squadmates from going overboard (ie. getting aforementionned whiskey dick).

But it helps when the lead has game to his name. You can't really "close the deal" for him, so to speak, you can only keep the target in his sights, so I guess you did alright.

PS: Hooking up in duo always helps (wingman gets fatty, lead gets hottie), since the hottie won't feel ashamed for going the one night stand route since her friend is also doing it*, but you are married, so you can't really use that tactic.

* It also cuts on the logistics. Many times both parties are ripe and ready but the girl doesn't want to leave her friend alone to take a cab, so she leaves with her, essentially %?$/-blocking the lead.
