I think the pic Drucocu posted in the tattoo thread sums it up pretty well.

If your cab's causing signals go to the mixer from an organ with no electric(),you're a metal bassist.

True story. My ears bled that night.Oh we also got kindly kicked because of our über-volume.

Wait, what?

Anyway, I used to play a Warlock bass through a Peavey practice guitar amp from the mid 80's. I think that's pretty metal.

Eluveitie has a member whose job description includes "other bagpipes." Now THAT'S metal! Speaking of metal, this is the best description of a metal bassist that I've found:
Quote:

From the journals of Dr. Johannes Krug:

In my traverses I have seldom come across such intriguing creatures as the ones I am next going to introduce to my readers. Truly remarkable faunae!

The individual Tundra scurried away as one of my assistants approached him bearing offerings. It vanished into the undergrowth nearby only to reappear behind my unwitting lackey decapitating him in the process. Following the beheading this creature started off into some kind of a dance. After following it briefly I believe it to be a ritualistic one. Shamanic, even! With strong pelvic movements.
So, slightly off-topic here, does anyone else both absolutely love folk metal and it makes them giggle uncontrollably?

There was an organ next to my cab that was jacked to the mixer, but it had no power.

The owner of the studio came and asked me why I had turned on the organ.I said I did not and he said there was a signal from the organ,he came and checked. It had no power,he became and we were never welcome there anymore.

Am I in the wrong for always being loud as hell? Or is it just my MM Bongo?

I'm not overly metal (trying my best though); I wear glasses and I'm a complete geek. However, I love the music and I love playing it. That and I don't exactly mind dressing in black. Isn't that what counts at the end of the day? :P
