a big event trusty sound man, there's one?

I remember a big event that I did a while ago, real big sponsored by a big mobile cia, everything was top of the line, they treat my band very well like any other big names that was playing in the same evening.
We did the sound check and we set up the monitors very well, So I could hear myself through the monitors as well, I went through that in the sound check very seriously so I could hear myself not only in the amp but in through monitors as well, so I could hear myself walking in the stage.
So when the show starts I couldn't hear ****, I just noticed that I was on cause I could barely hear heard myself in the crowd monitor, then I realized that I forgot to turn the amp on which I did without nobody in that big crowd noticing( neither my band), so I realized that I have no bass at all in any of the monitors !!
We were far from home in another state and after a several beers night watching the last night shows we had to wake up early in the morning to do the sound check, and why? if there is not any use at all?
there's any sound men trustful at all?

as for the tb rules here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwyiuBF63NU

Man that sucks. The singer looks over at you like "Huh?" (or "o que?" ) and at .39 minutes you are looking around too.

I think we all know that feeling...

Anyway, congratulations on the gig. Too bad não falo português my friend, but the song sounded well structured.
