Just got done with our first headliner show. We play originals and we were collecting all the cash from the door tonight. We are a metal act so our shows can get nuts. Well our guitar players brother who i have known for years would sometimes come up on stage and do guest vocals on a song.

We have just talked about a song for him to do this on but nothing has been worked on. Anyway, he gets totally lit up wasted tonight and rushes the stage right in front of me, hit my mic stand and the mic goes directly into my eye. It hurt like hell. I have black eye and he got chewed out afterward.

Either way it was a good night we made $1000 bucks tonight so I'll take one for the team.

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Then it's all fun and games without depth perception.

Wear an eyepatch. Eyepatches are badass (and therefore metal).

It was a Shure P40 or whatever, a cheapy live mic I don't catch the Flu or herpes from someone. So thats the best metal mic hands down.

pics or it didn't happen.

How exactly did you pull a grand? Reason I ask is that 2/3rds of my band plays in a national metal act (~80 shows/year) that's been around since the 80s and their payout isn't nearly that and they have guarantees at every venue before they set foot in the door.

Well trust me it did happen no need for a pic of my face. And for the 1000 dollars. We had to pay the guy who booked and did the sound 15% so we gave him 150 bucks. cover was 7 bucks. Some rough math is we pulled in 170ish people.
