So to me seeing any of the mentioned above played by a female its just so awesome, not to mention when they play it well!

You know, it's pretty much a double standard when you think that a pretty woman doesn't have talent enough to be here.
Rana Ross, Tal Winkenfield and Rhonda Smith have credentials that most of us would kill for. Talent and looks have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
Making comments in either direction reminds me of why I stayed away from here for a couple years.

I'm in love with Melissa Auf Der Maur. She has no problem tearing it up, be it with Hole, Smashing Pumpkins, or on her solo album.

Mods, any chance you can clean up this thread? Just to keep things on topic, please. Thanks in advance if so.

I deleted my posts.
Maybe next time title your post to include TB Chick bassist or something like that so there is no confusion. Or maybe remove the word Chick altogether. Sorry for ruining your day.

I picked up the bass because I heard some cool sounds on an old tape I borrowed from a friend at the very impressionable age of 15. I started playing the next day, later learned that it was
who played those lines, and the rest has been my career and life ever since. No looking back, no regrets.
Thanks Juliana, I owe you more than you'll ever know.

Why is it that girl bass players all have to be hotties, sex kittens or sluts?
I can't tell you how many FUGLY
guy bass players there are out there that everyone thinks are killer. It is because they CAN PLAY and that should be what matters most!
ARGH!!!!! |

Nice dress and really poor playing (really, she played alone 2 roots/minute, along the record. A really strange choice of an instrument for that kinda situation). But she was hell cool even that way |

ARGH!!!!! | Exactly my point, this wasn't supposed to be a "hotties" display, but a display of chick bassists. Thus my comment about it going downhill. On behalf of fugly male bassists everywhere, I apologize to all cool female bassist everywhere. Sorry for the occasional jerk in the crowd.

| | | I saw this band at a festival in the summer, they had a young lady spanking a nice Fender Jaguar.
The band was called The Noisettes. |

Thanks, Bill. A guy that actually gets it...
Can you tell I've had my share of **** from the "ol boys club"!
Anyway, here is an older picture of me, taken at a gig, don't have any recent. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
