I would have to agree. I saw her on a show over here, called Spicks And Specks, she wasn't playing bass at all and she was just scary looking.

I think this thread was doomed to failure because of the title. Most women don't like to be called "chicks". It's degrading.

Here's a couple everyone on here should know. If you don't then google and go out and get some albums 'cause you are missing out.

1) Carol Kaye
2) Me'shell Ndegocello

This will probably start a riot....but from a "chick" point of view...I think this is absurb. First of all we cant "hear" anyone on this thread...so that leaves us with the obvious visuals. I personally donot know any woman out there that doesnt like to be called "hot". Now if you were on here belting out riffs and all a guy could manage was to comment on your looks..then I could see getting panties getting tied in knots. Im 34, I have had 4 kids, and when a guy calls me hot...well..it makes my day...anyway...thats my take on it. I think Tal is very cute by the way...I love the crazy curly hair!!!!

*sheepish voice* umm... I took the time to peek at your myspace page.....

34? 4 kids? Craps, you're hot without having all that going for you. At a brief glance (myspace isn't allowed at work usually) I didn't see any of your music on there, so I couldn't comment on your sounds, only your visuals, sorry.

Yeah, point taken, but I just like seeing women playing bass. It doesn't have to be a sexy thing, so "hot" or not, I don't care. Chrissie Hynde is one of my favorite rock artists, and she ain't hot by pretty much anyone's definition, but she's damned cool with her "go f*** yourself" attitude, her bangs and her telecaster. My point is that not only do bass players not get into pics enough, regardless of gender, but female bass players even less so. "Cool" is irrespective of gender, and in many cases irrespective of "hotness." I'd intended this to be an opportunity for female bass players to show off their cool factor to those of us who appreciate it - as an early poster in this thread pointed out there's already a thread called "bass babes" for anyone who wants to look at hot chicks with basses - not that there's anything wrong with that either (hey, I've been there more than once), I'm just saying, this thread ain't meant to be that thread.

ya,,, with the title of this thread being " Chick Bassists... let's see "em! " it was like OH YA,,, guys would like chime in saying,, oh ya,, i'de hit that... or,,, the fugly comments, because thats what guys think,,, it's primmal,, reguardless of how you censor yourself,& then politely post...

maybe the " proper " title of your next thread should be something like

Women Bassists.. No Photos Please..just clips.. ( & please remember men,, these women could be your grandmothers/mothers/sisters/daughters.. so please edit what you type,, please, please, please

& remember folks,,, this post is in the "HUMOR " threads

She was the girl that played with Vic on Disc 2 of "Live in America". I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure she rhymes WHILE she's copping Victor's slap style...SICK!

Do yourself a favor and give her a listen.
Quick sidenote, I saw a picture of her in a magazine that inspired me to get pink strings for my bass... good times!

My favorite chick bassist is my girlfriend, Ling. She admires my bass playing, and I admire how hard she works in school...oh yea, and how she can sight-read and I can't (no church gigs for me )

She sports an Ibanez soundgear. I'm building her a bass for her birthday present.
