Last night our HSB had to go home after the first set. She's had a nasty cold and like the trooper she is, she showed up anyway and when she tried to sing, she opened her mouth and no sound came out but a couple squeaks. We just dropped most of her songs and sang the ones we could without her.
By the third set we were pretty down, we were playing like we were tired and just wanted to get it over with. There wasn't much of the crowd left, maybe 40 people where we typically have over 100 at this point, in this bar. Two songs into the set, the front doors swing open and a continuous stream of SMOKING HOT BABES flows into the bar. Like 20 of 'em. Maybe four guys in the group. It's moments like these that make me believe in God. We were right in the middle of "the Middle" which I'm always complaining about cause I hate it and it's for the younger set and we typically draw an older crowd that likes the 60's and 70's stuff we usually play. This group LOVED it. As they were walking through the door they were already playing air guitar and singing along. The guys went to the bar, the chicks to came to the dance floor and immediately started bumping and grinding against each other and the band instantly WOKE THE F*** UP. I cranked the lows on my amp (cause we know that's what the chicks want) and stepped up into the front line (where our HSB normally stands) to get a better view of the dance floor.
The next song on the list was "Poker Face". Clearly none of us guys was gonna sing that one, so we would have just skipped it entirely. I said into the mic "We need a Lady Gaga up here" and the chicks went apeshit. One of 'em came up - and did a fantastic job. After that song she asked our Lead Guitard if her friend could join her, they looked through our song list and chose "When Will I Be Loved". I absolutely LOVE this song, and the two of them just knocked it out of the park. The crowd totally lost it and it turned into one of the happiest moments I've ever had on stage. I punched my keyboard player and handed him my point n' shoot and this was the only decent picture he got:
I honestly wanted to get their numbers to call 'em as backups if our HSB is ever sick again, but they all left before we were done. Turned out it was a "drunk bus" and they were all on there way to some mystery destination. As quickly as they had appeared, they were gone.

I don't have any still pictures from this gig, but there's a video - and a couple screengrabs here:
...and here's a video. From around 2:30 some girls start showing up in the video. Totally wrong focus on the cameraman's point... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29BP0hc6Pns
