Church Bassists: What did you play this Sunday?

It might be fun to see what everyone plays, which versions in particular, what praise songs are popular, offertory songs, thoughts on keys and stuff, etc.

I'll start, we play a mix of originals and louder Christian praise stuff:

2x originals
Salvation is Here - Hillsong United
In Wonder - Newsboys
Everlasting God - Lincoln Brewster
Slow Fade - Casting Crowns (offertory)

I love the solo in Salvation is Here, and its usually our leadoff song cause its pretty high energy. I double the guitar on the intro to In Wonder using a little tapping thing. We also play Slow Fade for a men's retreat kickoff thing we're doing, but not really a praise song. Its a great message for men to hear, and we have a great singer who nails the part. Everything we play is in the key as recorded, just to make rehearsals easier.

It was a short service musicwise this week.

Praise and Worship:

Zion (is Calling Me)
The Lord is high (maybe wrong name)

Music Ministry:
Greateful... Hezekiah Walker

Offering:
Oh Gives Thanks (Onto the Lord)

Short but very hot! Afterwards we (the musician) jammed some improved contemporary Jazz for about 40 min.

Salvation is Here is a great one... I love the bass solo, too! I use my MTD Artist 5 with the single Musicman-style humbucker for that one and it nails the tone.

Son Of God - Starfield

Because Of Your Love - Paul Baloche

We - Joy Williams

The Joy Williams song was a whole lot of fun! Went over very big too.

We have 9:30 AM & 11:00 AM services. The 9:30 can be a little "dead" at times. This Sunday we closed the 9:30 with the Delirious version of My Glorious. We completely rocked the house. When we finished the congregation just stood there unphased (like they were standing at a bus stop or something)! Talk about awkward!

Ralf

hokey smokes! that happened to me a couple of sundays ago! we played this new tune called Let God Arise (can't remember who it's by), but it's a smoking number. First service, everyone just stared in disbelief. it was baaaaaad. we, the musicians, were on, but nobody in the congregation got it. we hoped that second service would be different. we were wrong. just blank stares again. ouch. thankfully the night service got it.

We played

Come Now Is the Time for Worship
Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord
All in All
I Believe In Jesus
Lord I Lift Your Name

This was all completely acoustic since we had no power, thank you Hurricane Ike. I actually played the bongos/various percussion/singing. It was a very interesting experience to say the least, but it was a very powerful, amazing worship.

Beautiful day- U2(yes, although we/I butchered it).
Never let go
How great is our God
Beautiful one
I haven't done a regular church gig in a couple of years)long story), but this may become a steady thing- which would be great as I've missed it.

Lilly of the Valley
Heart of Worship - which our church really needed to hear
God's Choir - Choir director worked it up nice - Very slow and reverent first verse, then kicked in with a walking bass line and finished the song uptempo.

-Forever
-Deep Deep, Down Down (strong bass lines)
-Here I Am To Worship
-No One Like You
-Oh, Magnify the Lord (kids really like this one. They have a bunch of motions to do and we play each verse faster and faster, so they really get a workout.)
