Coincidence or Just Been Around Too Long?

Played a show last Thursday night in Hollyweird that has an outdoor bar (Cranes Tavern) and some tables set up so people can smoke. We had finished our set and the drummer, KB and I were sitting there talking for few minutes enjoying the warm evening air.

Across from us is a couple of young women (late 20's, early 30's) who were sitting and smoking with drinks. One of them had glanced in our direction more than once. There was a guy standing at their tall table too, fit and 20 something who probably worked at Bally's 24 Hr. gym across the street and was out hustling customers.

Anyway, one of the girls goes over to the bar and is returning to her table when I ask, in hushed tones, "Do you think that I could hit that" (implying the improbable) and both guys turned and looked at her (all three of us gawking). She saw us and slowed down and did her Hollywood Academy Award walk swinging one foot in front of the other for her last few steps, then gently slipped into her high backed stool. I whispered again "here it comes, her performance" as she took her lit cigarette from the ashtray, flicked the ashes and drew on it as she leaned back and looked over at us again.

Of course, we all laughed like HS freshmen because I had called it so perfectly.

So, coincidence or have I just spent too much time in bars?

I suggest next time you talk to her instead of to your buddies.

Old enough to be her dad, if not grandpa.

I think You just answered your question .

BTW, late 20's early 30's women are young to me too, and I'm just approaching 40.

BTW II, women who know what turns men on, tend to use the same tricks, no matter what's the location

Regards
Sam

Yeah, played age-appropriate straight ahead jazz for the last 5 years but got tired of the old-timers, on and off stage. Thought I still had a few moves left and, paunch and all moved back into more contemporary music.

It's not easy. The drummer, a 22 year old and five years younger than my youngest son, and I have a strong groove going, driving the band and we hang out a bit too.

Let's see what you are up to in a couple of decades...

Heh heh heh... nice story. Sounds like you handled the right way in the end. Too young, too self-involved. Shine those kind on.. not worth your time of day.

I date girls in their late 20s and early 30s. Maybe they like the maturity. Or is it that I don't act like a goof, think about their comfort before mine and also am financially stable?

Not all girls are into older guys (who could technically be their dad) but there are some and it's a really good thing.

There are plenty of girls who dig musicians too.

Style , clearly you did not take my response as intended. I answered HMMMMMMM, been around too long ??? to YOUR original question. I am 49 so I too can speak of this with some first hand knowledge. I see these young hotties ,and yes, they bring back some fond memories. Alas though, I too have been around the scene too long. Heck give me a hot Cougar any day.

Woman that do girls talk tend to tell each-other about tricks and what turns men on in general, that's what I picked up from being around with girls.
What they say about men is generally similar, some of the girls take
that small talk in as truth. Older men that have seen them play games can predict
their behavior from experience, because there aren't many variations on woman's viewpoints towards men.
(and vice versa)
