Was a local band we played a show with in the '90s. Had a great name:

Big Black Johnson.

The greatest band name I've ever heard was Ronald Raygun. Too bad they couldn't live up to such a name

The Damned is one of my faves, there were some cool punk band names;

Ramones
Black Flag
Millions of Dead Cops
Crass
Buzzcocks
The Blood
Peter and the Test Tube Babies
The Adicts
Anti Nowhere League
X Ray Spex
The Vibrators
The Adverts
The Slits

I also think the following are cool names;

Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
Iron Maiden

I guess it all depends on what the reader classes as cool ?

I've always found 'steely dan' quite a fun one.
Improved still by very decent music that comes with it.
To me that's a plus .

Particularly given its provenance.

I learned this week that Sarah Shannon, former frontwoman of Velocity Girl, is currently in a kiddie-rock band called "The Not-Its!" I think that's a pretty cool name.

I always liked the name Crash Test Dummies... although I just youtube'd the band and I wasn't impressed

I've been in:
Kim and the Well Hungarians
Lonesome Otis and the Rhythm Ninjas (shortened to Lonesome Otis)

My nephew had a punk band called Tragic Burn Victim

I don't think A.C. has been mentioned here. I don't think I can type it out on this forum, so click the link if you're curious lol. Good for a laugh and not much more.
