Craigslist finally paid off!

Sign in to disble this ad
Wow, im amazed. I answered an ad on Craigslist and what do you know! Actual Musicians! With Talent! Im totally amazed and shocked, as were they. They were like god you should have heard the last 5 guys we had audition from Craigslist. LOL I was like, well you should have heard the last 5 bands I auditioned for from Craigslist.

So finally, I found some musicians worthy of jamming with more than once! Thank GOD! I was beginning to think musicians were a Myth in this town.

Haha... I found the last 2 full-time bands I was in over the last 8 years on Craigslist... It is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack though.

Gay porn.

Good musicians on cl are tough to find. I found my current band through them. Needle in a haystack for sure.

I'll tell you what, though, I came across a TON more by taking a music class at the local community college. One night a week for a few months paid off in more ways than I ever would have thought.

Cheers to that!

If it means anything to you guys... I found my current girlfriend of almost 1/2 a year now on plentyoffish.com- a FREE site, much like craigslist. She's very pretty, kind, intelligent, and not a serial killer. I would ABSOLUTELY wade through all the crap on craigslist any day of the week to find that diamond in the rough, whether it be a band, instrument, or in my case, the girl I love. For the time being, though, I'm set on a band, gear, and a lady, with no hint of that changing any time soon. In modern times, searching online almost becomes easier than going out to a bar and having to deal with all the rowdiness and stupidity while trying to meet people or musicians. And craigslist is almost always a guarantee of finding good equipment people are looking to get rid of for some QUICK CASH (read-CHEAPER).

Congrats! Central Florida has some great musicians buried in our midst. When you guys start playing out, PM me so I can come hear you. It'll be good to see a fellow TBer in action.

Congrats on your new band!

Unfortunately CL seems to be the only game in this town. Even the pros use it. The thing is, you really gotta weed out the crap by email or on the phone. I've got a few awesome gigs, but been thru a ton of downright painful situations.

Come to think of it, it's been like that since the old 'Buy & Sell' days.

We had one 90 minuite practice sunday, so looks like were going to do the jam at the longwood VFW next sunday since the rehearsal space is not available.

Band name is Speed Limit 70

They actually posted songs from our 1st rehearsal on the web site. Kinda rough, but if you must, www.speedlimit70.com, bear in mind these are all the 1st and only time we played these together. It will get better in time though.

Im really happy with my little TC Electronice BG-500 combo. Sounds really good with the band.

Congrats. The current band and the current worship leader at my church both came from CL. All have been my friends and now best friends for over 2 years.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the link. Bass sounding really good in that mix. Is the VFW an open jam? It's a haul from here, but what a great way to burn a Sunday.

I love Craigslist! I just got my Line6 Bass Pod in a great trade for my Orange 25'er. Can't wait to hook this thing up to my cab! I make a lot of friends through it too, fellow musicians just trying to get what they'd like.

I have had great luck with Craigslist but you have to wade through the crap to find what you are looking for.
The last 3 of 4 bands have been off of Craigslist and a ton of gear bought and sold.
