I collect antique tools but will also look for bargains on tools I use regularly. One day I found someone at a flea-market selling some woodworking tools. He had a small run of the mill and fairly beat up Stanley hand planer which can be bought new for about $8 at The Home Depot so when he said he'd take "two-fifty" for it I handed over a $5 bill. I own some pretty rare and pristine planes and spokeshaves that are well over 110 years old that aren't valued at $250. I wished him luck with his newfound antiques venture.
