I have not been checking in much, the last month of my life has been probably one of the most challenging that I could ever imagine, and has been a living nightmare.

In any case, on a lighter note, I've decided that I need to move over to a good quality 5 string, but wanted something "traditional", if there is such a thing. And I am a big Carvin fan, so tonight I'm meeting fellow TB'er Basswave and taking this little smoker off his hands;

Carvin SB5000 Ash/Ebony $800 shipped

Again, glad to see everyone is okay.
So sorry to hear things have been so rough.

Congrats on new bass, though.

Congrats. Looks beautiful.

Thor & DT, I'm a furnace. I'd rather play a cold gig in a t-shirt bc I hate having my arms feel constricted or having sleeves that mute my strings.

I'm on the way to thinning down myself. Dropped about 30 since the spring.

Nice work there DT. I'll give a closer listen this weekend to chat up particularly great parts. Most importantly, you are playing out and recording so you have objective feedback to learn and grow from.

Tat, glad to see you surface. Now to locate the other CWB vixens

Thanks, it's looking up.

DerTeufel has been supportive as we often IM each other thru Facebook just to chat and hang out. If any of you ever get the chance to meet him I recommend it, I hope someday he and I can sit down and have a beer or two together.

I'm driving to boot camp in the last week of February, so if you want to grab a drink (or lunch or whatever) as I'm on the way up or back and it's not too far out of route, you should let me know so I can plan for it. I'll be going with a collection of basses and picking up the new baby in Greensboro on the trip up to Reading.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I was musing longingly one day, and literally hopped on my motorcycle and drove 950 miles to Dyersville, IA (a very LONG day) to sit in the bleachers at the "Field of Dreams" and contemplate life.

Crazy? Maybe, but when you're a bass player and a biker all rolled into one, there is no visionquest that you won't try.

So I say let's all go visit someone - just to say we did. Plus it's really good for your karma.

I'm here, just haven't had much to say. The first half of my week at work is always hectic because i have between 2 and 4 fifteen minute interviews to edit by Friday to air on Saturday. My bad hasn't practiced this month because our lead guitar player was retrieving his family from New York. Hopefully we'll get back to practice once he gets them settled.

JaamE, Did you check out the links to Kimberly Lynn's YouTube performances I posted a couple of pages ago? She lives in your neck of the woods.
