hi all ... working from home in the Hudson Valley tomorrow. NYC still under a lot of stress from the hurricane. Be that as it may, gigs must go on and I've got that acoustic one with the Vague Assurances tomorrow night. Then practice with the Shoemakers on Sunday. In between is Saturday night ... so who knows? Tat, come on up!

It seems like Jackie's parents will be moving from Richmond to a retirement home in the Pittsburgh area sometime after the first of the year.

They are good people, her father Tom is starting slip pretty fast physically and mentally. We have some tough times ahead of us. Her mom is super sharp mentally although very frail. It will be good to have them closer.

One of us (likely me) is going to go pick them up and bring them up here for Thanksgiving.

hey drummer - I know about that - went through it with my mom. It will be good to have them closer, that is the one thing for sure.

C3, have fun on that gig and I hope things get back to normal soon for the coast.

Mike, sorry to hear he is not doing well, but having them close will be wonderful during this phase of life. I'll keep good thoughts for you guys.

J, how's life in the temperate rainforest?
It was actually fairly sunny parts of today.

According to my Teen though we have more different climate biomes than any other state.

Was it you who asked it i was editing TV or radio?
I do radio, i've been in radio for 22 years and right now do most of my stuff prerecorded and work at the front desk during the day. We do two 12min community talk segments and two 12min paid infomercials each week.

thanks. My office is in midtown and was not affected, nor was our house in Brooklyn which is on higher ground (at least for Brooklyn). But mrs C3's office building in lower Manhattan right by New York Harbor got flooded maybe 75 feet deep, with all the subbasements and power equipment etc. Don't know how well you know Manhattan but there is a LOT below sea level and once the water rises over the edge, look out below. So her firm has been displaced as have many others. There's not much I can do to help, and she understands that the show must go on, so I'm keeping the home fires burning 100 miles up the Hudson. We'll have everyone here for Thanksgiving (all three kids, son-in-law, other family) and that will be her chance to chill out.

I'm not the one that asked, but my sweetie is a retired radio exec. She was the director of research for twenty years at the national level. (I don't want to say with who, but she was based out of DC.)

That was me. So, a CWB with sexy radio voice? Superb.
I've been editing and occasionally producing TV shows since the 80s. Currently editing weekly shows for Sky TV, NBC and ESPN.

Random... My district is erasing all our hard drives!?! This couldn't wait till Saturday? I wonder what crazy stuff they found now

If you search Nancy Sebring and DSM schools you'll probably get the humor in this.

Good morning all

Major "Ooops!" How can supposedly "smart" people get involved in such stupid activity? (Rhetorical Question)

I got a new baby picture today. February can't hardly come soon enough. Mike, you'll get to try this one out at boot camp. You'll be ready for fretless 5 by then, right?

Five string and fretless? No, I likely won't be ready at all for that. But I'll hold it and run my hands over it's sexy curves. (And wish that I could play it...)

Bought a new bass on TB last night; hopefully will be delivered next week.

More pics @ ALEMBIC Essence Fretless 4
I had an Alembic Epic 5 back in the 90's. Shattered my wrist (2 operations, 12 wks in a cast, 4 screws & a plate) left me with very limited movement and I sold the Epic and stopped playing for a while. It will be good to have another one.

Love the wood on your project Tat. Looks a lot like my new addition; burly instead of birdseye..
