Wanted: Guitar player(s)
Our expectations of you:
• Can play your instrument without being an egomaniacal showboat
• Good attitude
• Lead and/or backing vocals
• Play well with others in the sandbox
• Do not run with scissors
• Dress for gigs like you look in the mirror before you leave home
• Have a sense of humor, but know when not to make a joke
• Mature attitude preferred
You can expect from us:
• Hard working
• Good attitudes
• Willing to try new things
• Open to song collaboration
• Regular (weekly) structured rehearsals
We are a drummer and bassist in the Clermont area seeking guitarist(s) and vocals for cover band. Open to power trio or two-guitar sound, depending on the personalities and the players. Gender and age are far less important than talent and good attitude. Classic/Southern rock sound – 60’s through today. We have rehearsal space and PA. Check out our links from a recent open mic night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_54l3vqVxg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beRzFJCfMuA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUepQ47yuCc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTKy6MlxDjk

Oh. Yeah. On the whole looking in a mirror thing – we’d be cool if you wanted to wear spandex, but we probably won’t share in that wardrobe choice. I could probably loan you a pair of tube socks if you needed them to stuff, though. ;-)

He's good - vocally and with the strings - but he lives too far away to make it work. I'm sad now. Quote:

We're still trying to figure out practice for next week, it's hard when people are busy with family.
The good news is my Army friend is in town for the holidays and i get to take him out dancing Sat night and prove some of those myths about redheads.

just got the call to play upright for three hours next Saturday night - jazz standards, no practice, just bring your Realbook and go. hey - it's a paying gig, I'll take it. Plus there's been kind of a dearth of opportunities jazz-wise lately.
the night before that is our dance gig at Vassar - I'm really looking forward to this and hope we do indeed get people dancing. We're doing all our uptempo stuff for this one.
and then it looks like I'm getting called for next Sunday as well, although that's sort of a mini-gig where I sit in with a jazz guitarist friend who plays a restaurant once a month.
So, it looks like gigs Friday, Saturday and Sunday next weekend ... I am pumped, don't think I've ever done that before.

other than the fact that you already have a drummer and bassist. You will get some good responses.
We have to start the bassist search soon. We are going to wait until after the Hard Rock gig. |

| | Owner of the GK Angry Bird amp | | Join Date: Apr 2011 Location: Olympia, WA | | | I've been practicing, and playing with my EQ a bit today. Noticed i also have to remember to mute the open E after i move right from it to another string (like the song i'm practicing now). I'm sure that contributes to the muddy sound i hear. Unfortunately my ears don't detect much difference when playing lightly with EQ. But I did turn the 'bass' knob down a bit, and the 'low-mid' (i think it was) up a bit. And i did get the timing down ok on a run that was driving me nuts, so except for one point in the song i can do it ok. The other point i can hear it on the recording but i guess it doesnt fit well with how i modified my part on the first portion of the song. So if I have to i can just skip it.
Then a short person insisted i come watch him play some Kirby game on the Wii. Gah! I am NOT a gamer!
