We smokes "Export A" which were the highest nicotine and tar brand out there. Eventually settled on "Player's Light". That was an on off gig at first but then smoked pretty regular through HS and until I was almost 20.
Then I met the future Mrs. G. She was allergic to tobacco smoke. She never asked me to quit but that was just the motivation i needed. I still smoked when I drank and when I was travelling on business (which was honestly only about 5days a year). I relapsed when I was around 23 but not for that long. The "smoking on the road trip" and occasional drunk-smoke continued into my 30's. it used to drive my boss nuts. He was an ex-smoker and he knew that with one puff he'd be rehooked. Me? I could turn it on or off.
Been a long time since ai smoked now and no desire to do so. More than 10 yearsvt a minimum. Can't even stand the smell of smoke anymore.

Offered at $825 (w/hardshell case, generic) based on what I see around here. I won't likely budge on that price. Not dying to sell that one but really do need to cut the inventory down.
I like those, and I like Tat's also. | Yeah, I misspoke. It's 10 to 15 times inflated. Or deflated depending on your view point.

The metronome just makes my head hurt. After a while i just stop hearing half the beats it makes. I can count along with it, but as soon as i try to tap on the desk with it i drift right back onto the main beat. i could probably do it if i counted 1-8 instead of the "and"s but then i wouldn't really be learning it. I've gotten away w/o having to learn to count long enough, and this one bass line i'm going to have to count if i want to do it right.

Agree about metronomes, though.

This is what my son who is a drummer was taught how to count which gives you the 16ths. Takes a load of practice. Still hard to be honest.

My dad was admitted to hospital today. Severely dehydrated and no root cause yet. From the looks of things, remission is a thing of the past. It sucks but it's not something I can control.

My dad suffered congestive heart failure last week. He is going through a battery of tests and such this week; but as you say, it is what it is. I will keep your father in my prayers, Tat.

He went to the Doctor complaining about back pain - the Doc diagnosed that he had lung cancer, & that it had spread. Two weeks later, he was gone...
All we can do is love & cherish our friends & family while they are here, tell them that we do, and tell them often...

If you need anything hit me up. Not that I could do much to help, but even if you just need a friendly shoulder to cry on.
Since we are disclosing our personal challenges, I'll throw mine in. DerTeufel has been a great friend to me during the last few weeks, we talk all the time, and he's one of the best people you'll meet anywhere.
My wife had her car accident in October (10-11-12). Her health declined significantly after that, and five weeks later the doctors identified an infection, luckily treatable. It was unrelated to her accident. She is doing much better now. But she was very sick and her health was spiraling downward with no real answers for weeks.
Some of you know, some of you don't, but my 11 year old son has autism. Not severe, he's on the milder side of the spectrum, but he still has many challenges in life. As parents we thought he was doing fairly well and dealing with his particular challenges in a positive way. On November 3rd he attempted suicide by trying to hang himself in his room. Luckily my wife found him (I was not home at the time) before he was significantly injured. He confessed he had been planning to end his life for about two months prior to that. He was hospitalized and the DSS system took him from us and placed him in a treatment hospital for a short time. He is now back home and receiving outpatient counseling and therapy services.
The only person here who has known about this is DT, and he's been a good friend to me through all of this.
Please do not think that I'm trying to trump any of your situations. Just offering this up to let you know that you are thought of and in good company with others who are also trying to put the pieces of their life back together while dealing with heartbreak.
