He calls me up on stage in 2nd set. We were gonna do Stuck In The Middle but the bassist hands me the axe and there is no sound. While we sort it out, the rest of the band starts playing Pride and Joy. The second the bassist figures out the setting that was blocking tone I just start playing along so we end up doing both.
Now his bass was a Fender 5'er and that threw me off enough that I butchered Stuck In The Middle ("clowns to the left of me...." Bit - just could not find my place) but the rig was an Ampeg SVT Classic through an Ampeg 410 and the tone was killer!
But the best was being up there and playing and Mrs. BG was kind enough to get a pic or two.
Oh how I miss playing live!

It is a great line but between the tempo they play it and the extra string being in the way I could not find that one part. If it were a 4 I'd have been OK with Tempo because I play it quite often just to warm up.
Felt so good to piay to a decent crowd and they also had a killer PA so the sound was really great.

He knows our names, but is incapable of holding any conversation. What he would say just wouldn't make any sense. A month ago you would have a conversation with him over and over again, now we can't even do that. Last year I predicted that it might the last Christmas that he would be lucid. Sadly, that was true.
Jackie and her mom are holding up well, but it's pretty tough.
I'll check in as I can. |
