Thanks for the positive thoughts everyone.
He did play the whole gig with us but only sang a couple of songs at the start, played pretty much just rhythm parts for the day. Really miss his picking but the fine motor skills just aren't there for him. Doesn't matter though everyone had fun.

I finally took a picture of my new rig, GB Shuttlemax 12.0, Beringer Compressor and QuadraVerbII (for a little chorus effect) running into a Peavey 410TX. The stage was incredibly tiny and the rig wound up on a chair because I was sitting 3' in front of it. Figured it was the only way I was going to hear it and not the back of my knees.

Hey there everyone. I'm still alive.

Special Blender - Thoughts and prayers to your friend. Keep an eye out for the depression; he's going to need his friends a lot during that time.

PA and FM - Watch your texts ladies. It's been interesting here recently, and I'll be asking you to overthink things on my behalf occasionally.

Thor, MB, DT - lots of good music, as always. Thank you muchly.

Mike - ping me when you have a minute. I have a message for you that came last night.

For everyone else that I've missed (and I know I haven't called out a bunch of people), thank you for asking about me and checking up one me while I've been sick.

PA - worked on "I'm Shakin'" today with the Vague Assurances, dedicated to you (at least on my part). The riff itself is easy but there are bars of 2/4 sprinkled throughout, typical of blues of the era but tricky to play. Lots of fun, though.

Awww...you guys are awesome. Thanks for missing me. I'm finally starting to feel better, but I still don't have all my lung capacity back yet. I'll be glad when the sticky feeling goes away and I stop coughing.

Mike, I had one of those (cd) version. I bought it when I was asked to play bass for "ain't misbehavin" for our civic center. They handed me a 196 page score... But I don't read music. So I bought the CDs and the trainer and learned my parts over a weekend. Luckily I was able to pull it off for opening night one week after getting the score. The trainer helped me figure out some keys I was not used to playing in. Great product

Aawww, you can read music. All you do is stare at the notes and play what you are going to play anyway, and all of a sudden it makes sense. Trust me on this, as I have learned to read music at least 3 or 4 times already. Now playing AND turning the pages, that's hard!

Tat, hope you are a bit better. I mailed the flats early. Sat morning, Should maybe see them tomorrow or Wednesday.

PA, check your mail, something coming at you.

Thor, I always give away that I'm not reading because I stare at the same page for a few songs . I should discipline myself to learn more but it's difficult when I can usually hear it and figure most of it out.
I'm lame that way. But everytime I force myself to learn it helps my playing. I'm a big proponent of learning to read but using your ears

so ... what does the winner get from the loser? (Ideally the same thing no matter which team wins.)
