I finally got my bandies organized for our first practice since early Dec ::sigh::
And i'm not even the BL, just apparently the person who needs to play the most. But, i really need it to get me through the winter especially.
So we have a 9pm prac on Thurs, which is late for most of us, so i bet it's a short one, but if it gets us moving forward again it's all good.

I know, half the time it's me who has to track down the drummer to get started, plus i help move and set up the mics and stands before others get to practice. I've been know to get on the kit and start playing drums badly and loudly until he gets his butt in there.

Ya'll have fun with that
How do we know you're not just being modest? I think we need some sort of proof. (No pic, no surprisingly average...)

Btw, I think "Surprisingly Average" would make a funny band name.

Maybe. My duties;

Play bass
Sing some songs and provide backing vocals
Transport equipment (I have the pickup truck)
Tow equipment trailer as necessary (see above)
Run the PA/soundchecks/run mixer (when I can)
Go over chord/lyric sheets to make sure they are reasonable
Supply toilet paper for the practice space

My only extra duty aside from show up and play is to track down hot singerbabes to audition when our last one leaves (this seems to be a perpetual problem of late - just started with a new one after our old "new" one had to quit bc of pregnancy complications.)

BL (guitarist) does all the real work.

LOL. Well, I guess we'll just have to take your word for it, then. (Although, I'm inclined to believe you since you're the first man I've ever come across who has openly admitted to being average, surprisingly so or not.)

I find no point in bragging.

I guess my band name could be "Better Than Average"?

In terms of duties lately?

Nag the band members into getting together to play.
Find a gig that they all want to play enough to motivate them to rehearse.
Supply the PA system (monitors, FOH, mixer, power amp, mics, etc.)
Haul the PA out of my basement (sometimes the band helps)
Load into my truck
Haul to show and unload and set-up and test.
Try to mix sound from a mixing board on stage and fail miserably because band thinks we don't need a longer sound-check and the few spouses stand back in the room and say "it's great" and then I get to listen to Singer's Hubby whine and complain that he can't hear singer (after the room is full).
Tear down gear after show, load into truck, haul home, unload and than drag it back to the basement and reset up the rehearsal space.

I guess I love this stuff!
