(No way am I leaving anything musical in the car while it's parked in NYC.)

It has gotten much better than when I used to live there though.
Have fun C3 and safe travels back and forth. |

I'm only bringing one or two basses to boot camp. |

back to chicks with basses, it occurred to me that I don't think anyone on CWB has ever posted a pic of Tracy Wormworth of The Waitresses (and later the B-52s), but maybe I'm wrong about that. This video still cracks me up, and Tracy and her bass are looking good. (Although as ya'll know I'm partial to Olympic white with a tort guard.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UX2afsTqFI

Have fun C3 and safe travels back and forth. | I lived in NYC from 1981 - 1992 and it underwent some changes then. Last 10 years, really big changes. The Olive Garden and Disney Store in Times Square instead of 'Show World" still gets me. |

The tools that provided income to six families were in that truck and we did not have the money to replace them.
edit: Speaking of money in that time reminded me of something I want to share. There was (actually still is) a local banker who helped all of us during those days. I will not share his name. I will say that in 1976 I walked into his bank, a skinny, self employed musician with hair down to my ass and this man never refused me a loan (houses, music equipment, cars, motorcycles). To this day I have always and will always bank with him because of his trust in me back then. Here is the story. Another member of the band and I went in the bank and asked this fellow if we could borrow $2000.00 on a six month note to buy T-shirts to promote the band. He said, "Well boys, I sure wish you wanted that money to buy a prize bull!". We said, "OK sir, can we have $2000.00 to buy a prize bull?" He replied, "Sure, step down here and we will sign the papers." Times have changed a lot since then and not for the better...incidentally, $2000.00 was a helluva lot more money back then than it is now (reading this back it sounds like an episode of "Andy Griffith" but it really did happen.)

I vote this one as the most over the top of the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jItz-uNjoZA |

| | (aka Greg Harman) | | Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Dunbar, West Virginia | | | I just received MP3 files derived from an old digitized copy made from a scratchy vinyl LP of a band I was in back in the 70's. Rough beginning product and three generations later so the quality really suffers by today's standards but you can get an idea (at least it is not on 8-track). If anyone would like to hear five or six of them send me an email and I will send them to you. Thanks.

New app is available at the istore/playstore. New apps went live 2 january, I think. Looks a little different, but it's stable.
