Oh, so, you were at NAMM as an ENDORSING ARTIST FOR ZON BASSES!?!

Oh, no biggie...it's just an endorsement...congrats...that's cool.

....or maybe....

Or, like, whatever...I mean, it's not like it was strings or something...

I know, but looking back on it he was a VA guy, and just one appt to determine what PTSD services he qualified for. We thi nk the guy was purposely pushing his buttons to see what his reaction was. Hubby asked me to go with him and to go in with him, and the guy allowed it, but told me that he would not hear one word out of me. Keeping my mouth shut was very hard. Near the end he was asking hubby about some of his feelings and things he saw or did and i could see he was starting to lose it so i signed to him (ASL) did he want me to leave? And when he indicated yes, i stood up and excused myself. The Guy demanded to know why he was asking me to leave now and i turned around gave him a hard stare and told him that there are things my hubby does not wish to burden me with and that he knows that i don't wish to know about and walked out.

At the time it was baffling and i reported him to our respective counselors. Looking back we think it was to see if he could push hubby to anger or tears. Both of which are very hard even for me, and he sure as heck wasn't going to fall apart in front of a stranger.

trying to get the Shoemakers to do Muddy Waters' "I Just Want to Make Love to You" - written by the bass player Willie Dixon, recorded in 1954. I'd volunteer to sing it but I have to play the harp part as well as the (minimal) bass part, preferably on Big Mama.

I like the Muddy Waters album produced by Johnny Winter the best. M A N. Man. You could stun a Tyrannosaurus with that song.

My first version was 'The Shadows of Knight'. After Gloria the rest was Willie Dixon covers. Kind of dug it though.

A little bit of a departure for us, but I like the Exile on Main Street feel. (Or am I imagining that?)

QT remind me to listen to it later.

I'll listen late tonight, Jim. Have an appointment after work and won't get home till after 9 probably.

Too true. I've decided that instead of CL Musicians, I'm going to advertise in CL personals - W4M - and once I get a cute one that answers, I'm going to hit him with the stun gun and then chain him in the drummer's garage. It'll be harder to quit when he's chained up, I think.

He had Pulled Pork in mind, I think.

That was what I was thinking. Or recruit an all ladies band that needs a bassist BL.

Aw thanks guys!! I was going to wait till I had my bass in hand before letting the cat out of the bag, but any day now I should be making noise w that puppy.

Joe and his crew are great guys and we a lot of fun to hang with at the show. I also spent a good deal of time over at the Fodera booth since the Emperor has been my main bass since the first time I pulled it out of the case! Jason and Joey from Fodera made me feel like I was family. The whole experience was very rewarding and a lot of fun. Kind of like CWB but w less hotties

BTW, gig coming up this Saturday night with the Vague Assurances ... another "unplugged" type restaurant gig (it's winter in the Hudson Valley) but we're bringing some new material and I'm bringing that 35" scale Lak fiver P - I am really loving that bass.
