C3, best of luck with the deal. That Lakland may perfectly fit in with your current line up. Let us know how it goes and post some sound clips.
yeah, thinking of Tat too (no pun). Actually, I've kind of been craving a Lak ever since I met Tat and saw hers, although this one's quite different from hers. This is a fiver and it's 35" scale with just the old school split coil P pickup. I forget if hers is a fiver but I know it's got that incredible wood and kind of a reverse P/J pickup setup.

Are any of your basses 35" scale? Can't wait to try it. Shipping out my Jazz on Friday and should have the Lak by the end of next week.

No. It's a straight-up trade, and we're shipping over the next few days. Should have it by the end of next week. What's funny is that a TBer who I don't even really "know" brought this bass to my attention as he'd seen my posts about looking for a 5 string P style Lakland. Trade is a good match; my Jazz is a nice bass and might be worth slightly more than his but it's easier to find one like mine than one like his.

changing subjects, one of our kids gave me for Christmas a CD by a band from Iceland called Of Monsters and Men. I see they are on Leno tonight so I guess they are getting pretty big. Wondering if Thor knows this band ...

My Modulus Genesis and Quantum basses are 35". I never felt any difficulty playing the longer scale. It all depends on where the upper horn ends, so the first position isn't pushed too far away. The 35" absolutely helps w the B string. My blue VJ, emperor, and the Zon Joe is finishing are all 34". It's a bit of a sonic compromise but I'm good with it.

I know one song by them that's on the radio a lot.
I really like the one song, so let me know how the album is.

Good Afternoon CWB's and MoCWB's!!!

I trust you all had a nice Christmas. At least I hope all of you did.

No incoming or outgoing equipment for me at this time, I have my dream stuff (finally), and I'm perfectly equipped for everything I need to do.

Band is going well but is faced with a tremendous challenge right now. We are booked for shows in February and March, and more throughout the spring, but unfortunately our singer left the group. So I've been filling in on some vocals while we look for a new singer. We have a handful of people lined up to audition, but they'll have some work to do if they want to be ready for February.

We basically had built our sound around our old singer. He was really good, but some personal issues came up and he needed to take a break for a while. We will miss him, but we all understood why he needed to step away.

I was also offered a job in two other bands. One was an established country/southern rock band who needed to replace their bassist, one of the members had seen me play, and the other was a startup 80's cover band. I know the drummer and he recommended me to the group. I turned both down, respectfully, as I am in no position to dedicate any more time away from my family than I already am with Golden Road.

Anyway........nice to see everyone again!!!!

Does that white body Fender fretless have a brass nut? It looks like it does. Was the pickguard changed from black to the red? Did you buy that used? When? If so, I think that is my old fretless I've been searching for for over 20 years!!
