We're a 3 piece pop/prog band seeking a singer. Currently we have:
On guitar: Jerry.
Very clever and funny. Majored in English in college (as did I) and writes all the lyrics, melodies and songs.
Best quality: brings songs in when done/doesn't hog spotlight.
Worst quality: can be moody/needs to "dirty" up sound sometimes.
On drums: Mike.
Only long-hair in the band. He's caring, friendly and seems to know everyone in town.
Best quality: works for GC/brings chops to the table.
Worst quality: gets carried away w/electric drums at times/seems to know everyone in town.
On bass: Yours Truly.
After 13 years of playing, finally trying to mess with effects (new Bass POD owner!). I'm the band smart ass.
Best quality: IMHO, great ear/won't overplay even tho Ged is my God.
Worst quality: can use my gear, cannot figure it out/can be too much of a smart ass.
What's great about my band is that the three of us are normal guys. No personality issues or any of the common band ailments. I like these guys so much that they're going to be groomsmen in my wedding.

Ya see, it goes a lil sumpin' like dis...i have so much hairspray, gel, mouse and other disgusting hair products in my hair, that it is rock solid every day. If i loosen the base of the pigtail, i can swing them around like numchucks. It's been known to harm. But alas, i wouldn't hurt you...i would just...nicely shove you in the duck pond.

We would have our webpage link here, but since we may never have it again due to a computer crash, it may have to wait a while. Meghan: Singer/keyboard. I have never played with a keyboard, but I liked the idea. She is also my girlfriend of over six months, but we are still cool, and will stay together for a long time. Mayhaps will become my wife. *sigh* One can only hope. Has a voice like an angel, since she is in the school choir as a soloist. Me: Bass/backup vocals. I also do vocals on the harder stuff we do, like Metallica and Sabbath. Matt: Lead guitar. A very talented guitarist, has been playing for about eight years. Quiet and shy, is the dream of every bass player, a guitarist with no ego!! Jeff: Rhythm guitar. This is Matt's little brother. He isn't as talented at Matt, which is why he is on Rhythm instead of lead. But he is working on it. Also quiet and shy, with no ego. Greg: Drummer. Greg is probably a better drummer than many professionals. I have seen him do solos with one hand, eyes closed, drinking a Dew with the other hand. He also drums for the school Jazz band, and took 1st in Regional in Rudimentary Snare. Makes Lars Ulrich look slow. Bob: Techie/lyricist. Bob used to be our drummer, but he had to move a few days ago, and his new house doesn't have room for the drums AND the equipment. He sold his drum set, and is now our mixer/recordist. Very proficient guy for writing lyrics, and also has a very good sense of humor. Was the first guy I asked to join my band.
Thats about it. We recently recorded our first full length album, on Bob's little 424 4-track. We have only written seven songs, but we are still trying, plus a LOT of covers that we know.
Rock on
Eric

Matt: Lead Guitar... Good at solos and has an awesome Crate setup. Only been playing for about 2 years. Least musical theory knowledge, but has good ideas. Big emo/indie rock influence.
Barry: Rhythm guitar... Has not played guitar for a while, but starting to get back into it. Had 8 years of trombone experience prior, so is pretty good with the musical theory stuff. Another big emo/indie rock influence.
Me (Nate): Bass... I probably have the most ability, which kind of makes up for the other guys. I had 9 years of trumpet playing experience before I picked up the bass 1 and a half years ago. I guess I bring the hard rock/hip-hop influence to the group.
Ryan: Drums... He's moving his set in tomorrow, so we'll see how he works out. We asked him to join without hearing him because he's the only person we know willing to move his set over to Barry's house.
We don't have a singer yet, but since we're only gonna play house parties and stuff around campus, we'll have random friends sing for us. |

| | | my band is called Satan's Wang and we like to do classical music with a mix Death-Black Metal Thrown in.
ok really now that i got that outta my system...
Band Name: DownCast (for any of you wondering it means depressed and when it was named the lead singer was bassically very sucidial)
Music: Metal...we do Manson Coal Chamber System of a Down and Fear Factory covers and originals
we are very sarcastic and are bassically one of the outcast bands of the area (considering that we have different originals than the rest of the area)
Singer:Kalin...one of the koolest guys alive. can make anyone laugh. he can be an ass...but that is what makes him funny. I guess you can say he is the Band Founder. writes most of the music.
Guitarist:John...Kool guy. this kid can tab out just about any song. great guitarist. wrote our biggest song. kind the d*ck of the band...but that is kool
Drummer: Dave...umm...well...he is a drummer. He is the one in the band that can play something on every instrument. originally a guitarist...but sucked and had a drum set. We fight constinally. we have been friends forever so i think that is why we fight.
Bassist: I wonder... i am Bryan and the ******* of the band.i am the finishing touch. they were a band without me...but needed someone to hold the low frequncies and i fit the application

My band's name is "Elder."No, we didn't steal the name from a Kiss song. We've put out two albums, one on Liquid Disc and one on Bulletproof Records. We've been through two drummers.(Don't worry dudes,I've got nothing but good things to say.)The core of the band is:
Vocals/guitar-Joe Albanese
Percussion-Cat Albanese
Guitar/vocals-Bryan Whitfield
Bass/vocals-Me
Joe is the leader/spokesperson,He's full blooded Italian,he's not shy.
Cat is his wife, she's pretty, but, not eye candy she's a good percussionist.
Bryan,the other 6 stringer,somewhat laid back,but isn't shy either
Then there's me.The moody sometimes deppressed bassist. If I ever quit this band I'll ask Keanu Reeves to fill my spot or Derek Smalls from Spinal Tap.That's us in a nut shell. |

| | | | Well..I´m kind of in 3 bands, but 2 of them are on a break, so I´ll just describe the one that isn´t on a break.. (Remember these are Icelandic names so they will probably sound stupid..)
Haffi-Singer/Guitarist..He´s the best drummer I´ve ever seen..
Óttar-Guitarist...He´s pretty good, not as good as Haffi, though..
Stebbi-Drummer...He´s good, but not as good as Haffi...
Me-Bassist(duh..)..I´m just the bass player..I just play. The other members get the gigs and stuff.. |

| | | | Seems like a fun topic, here's a review of my ex-band...I can't use real names or they'll probably sue, so here goes..
Me: Singer...didn't sing before joining, couldn't sing at all when I first started. It was more like rhythmic talking, and that wasn't what I was trying to do. Later I got better, but really only evolved into growling and such. Good lyric writer though...I became the singer cause I was videotaping one day and apparently I was better than the bassist who was singing previously.
M (M,R,J): Lead Guitarist...awesome, best musician I've ever played with, although unfortunately I've never actually played with him. (Get your mind out of the gutter) I was singing only when he was around, I only started playing bass after he had moved to Texas...he now lives in Arkansas and is apparently 76.4 times better...he's movin back up here for college, we're gonna play together and rock the nub.
E: Bassist...not good. He's the reason I started playing. Took him like 2 weeks to learn Mission Impossible. Never seemed to go up that learning curve.
B: Drummer...he replaced our old drummer and unfortunately we never had a show with him as the 5 piece (Other B and I played with him recently) He was awesome too. He's got an uncanny sense of rhythm, is great with fills and writing too. He's an awesome teacher, and is easy to understand.
B: Really more of a Second Guitarist than a Rhythm Guitarist. His rhythm was off a lot and he wasn't that great when he first joined. He's real good now although his rhythm still isn't perfect. Oh well, that's what I'm for ::does the rolling eyes smiley::
We rocked the nub totally...if you want a history of the band, like IM me or something, I'm usually on.

| | Total Hyper-Elite Member | | Join Date: May 2000 Location: Groom Lake, NV | | | OK, I had this in that other thread, but you can have it here, too. Oh, we're giving our band line-ups? OK.
Erin - Lead vocals. Cord winder. Sound man apprentice girl. Obviously, does all the girl songs. Bonnie Raitt, Shania, Tracey Chapman, Wynona, Trisha, Faith, Martina. Did I mention she is good? REAL GOOD. Memorizes all songs within a week of assignment. NEVER uses cheat sheets.
Scot - Lead vocals, backup vocals and acoustic guitar. Does all the high-pitched stuff, John Fogerty, Hal Ketcham, Dwight Yoakam, what-have-you. We can sound exactly like Creedence if we have to.
Br'er Paul - Rhythm and acoustic guitars. He's the guy that Mark Knopfler sings about in "The Sultans of Swing." You know, "doesn't wanna make it cry or sing" or something like that. Lead and backup vocals (ballads ... you know, Clint Black, John Michael Montgomery, George Strait).
Brad - Lead guitar. Lead and backup vocals (all the Stones stuff and blues, plus the ubiquitous "Johnny B. Goode"). Brad's style has a hint of 50's in it, only he can REALLY play.
Mike - Drummer. Drums. Drums well. He's not a loud drummer ... uses those pencil-thin sticks. I bought him a pair of telephone poles early in the game. He laughed, put 'em in his bag, and they haven't seen daylight since. It's a good thing we have plenty of channels to mic the drums. Never speeds up, knows all the licks.
Munjibunga - Five-string fretted and fretless electric bass guitars. Backup vocals. Sound man when the sound man can't make it. Chord fixer. Dynamics pointer-outer. Groover. Assistant snake winder.
Derwin - Sound man. Plays bass in at least two other bands (one Hawaiian, one classic rock). Loads and unloads gear. Snake winder. Owns rehearsal space (his carpeted garage). Soon to stand in on songs that I play mandolin in.
Well, that just about wraps it up.

We couldn't decide on a band name so we name ourselves "Undecided". We don't have a singer or a style since we've only been playing a couple months.
David aka "Biff Remis" - Lead Guitar
Myles "just a little guy" - Rhythym Guitar
Shane "smelly cheese man" - Drums
and, Me "The Big Man" - Bass
BTW I feel obliged to mention probably the best unknown band in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada "Red Mist Club". They are 10 years older than us but are still cool.
Mike - Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals, he's been noted to say "could Hendrix do this?" a number of times.
Kenny - Rhythym Guitar/Vocals, he's got a great voice and is probably the best Guitar play in Edmonton next to Mike.
Shaun - Bass/Backing Vocals
Eric - Drummer, he's a perfectionist and doesn't enjoy playing as much as the others but he's damn good. |

| | | The Elican Pelement Well my band is called Pelican Element and we are composed of the following:
Matt: Great Piano player, not such a great singer but he's the best we got.
Erik: Does well on Lead guitar, but not great with Rhythm and sometimes too loud, obsessed with effects.
David: Crazy drummer (Aren't they all a little crazy???) Awesome at what he does, likes getting his way.
Alex: Obsessive-Compulsive Violin player. 'nuff said
and Me on the bass.
Sound really good together, havent got many gigs yet, but we argue a lot so it gets pretty interesting.
Our website is very interesting with stories written by David and Erik (Fictional stories, but some of them are based on actual occurences, very funny)
