So for New Years Eve did you gig so others could have fun or did you party and not play? One of the bands I play in did a show at a street party and had a blast

Just got home from my gig. Was pretty dead compared to years past. Maybe the $75 cover (5 course meal included) was too much for most. Anyway, Happy New Year!

I did both actually..My band shared the stage with a top notch classic 60's/70's band. We alternated 1hr long sets, and both bands took the stage together for 5 songs after the ball dropped. Plenty of time between sets for socializing and a couple drinks, then plenty of time to sweat out 2/3 beers from the break..Great time tonight!

Played for a mostly older crowd so I can't say we rocked in the New Year but everyone (including us) had a good time.

This was the 40th New Years of our marriage and I've been on stage for 35 of them. Had 2 New Year's in a row off 5 years ago while I was in between bands. Drove my wife crazy having me home pacing the floor.

^that sounds like an awesome new year's. I just wrapped up RAC(local reggae band in Glendale) and finished it up with some Jack in the Box. Good night.

Cool to hear everyone had a good time! I played for my friend's family and everyone had a real good time. My first gig with my Gretsch g5123b and I'm proud to say that it didn't let me down

As for tamales, I did have a couple..

I was working as a waiter. I got double time though, but my feet are in an inglorious kind of pain.

Oh so the band before my friend's had vocals mic'd for the drummer who turned out to be a hilarious front man. He played the I'm drunk card pretty well but I don't think he was that inebriated. He played drums and hummed some sublime and everybody laughed but then they ended a song with that same sublime lick later and made everyone go crazy. Other notable quote:

"You should see me do a donut in the parking lot with this much bacardi in me"
5 seconds later
"You should see me eat a donut in the parking lot with this much bacardi in me"

Interestingly enough the band did not have a bassist.

I worked last night. Got off at 8 this morning. We work 24 hour shifts. It was busy last night on the great west side.

We rocked out in a local "A" room for the first time Friday and Saturday to full capacity (almost 500) it was fantastic, and now I am back at work...

We played at a big casino, and after the show, partied in the hotel rooms like rockstars!
