Most of my bands have found me... When I decided I wanted to return to gigging I just started showing up at (b-grass) jams ready to play. For about 6 months I never turned down an opportunity to play (good, bad and indifferent). I really don't know if this is limited to more traditional forms of music or what, but If there is any sort of scene in the genre you want to play - be a part of it - word will get out...especially if you are a reliable player with a good attitude.
