I have four G&L basses whose names are Ilsa, Buttercup, Ginger and Dolly.

I have a fifth I got recently that hasn't been named yet. Something usually comes to mind that seems fitting, at least at the time.

There's also one being thrown together for me at the factory any day now for which I already have some names in mind. But it doesn't seem right to name an instrument until you actually have it in your hands.

I call all my basses "Baby", and when using an indefinite pronoun, I do tend to refer to them in the feminine, but no specific names for each. However, my p-bass does have my wifes name carved in the back of the upper horn with a pocketknife.

I call my bass Mallgoth , because it isn't as hardcore as it looks.
