I did until 2 years ago, it was a "Faim" Argentinean made, 150 dollars.

Funny story. I'm playing "Victor Victoria" Opening night in the pit orchestra.
Super focused and sight reading my ass off.
Suddenly, a dancer falls on top of me throwing the music under the pit elevator, but not only that. My bass had the cable in the front, so when he landed, he raised all the wood leaving a huge hole I had to take it to a carpenter, not even a luthier....
BUT THE MF STILL WORKED!!! WITH THE HOLE AND EVERYTHING!!!

hahahah

so before coming to Berklee I sold it to a friend of mine back home...:P

+1 76 P bass bought slightly used in 77 for $200. Though my girl had to have her neck replaced a couple years ago, she's still my favorite bass.

No and I wish I did. I had a early 70's Acoustic Black Widow. Hollow body and set up
with flats. Got married in 1980 and did the purge of most of my equipment, but we needed to eat & pay rent, so.....

Yep, Ibanez GSR200 from 1999. Cost about $200. I traded it in in a local music store approx. in 2002, then came across it about two years later when a friend of my friend was selling a bass he didn't need. It was just how I left it; truss nut cover missing, one pot loose and a small dent in the body. I bought it back since I had started to regret selling it.

Wish I did, it was a nice semi-acoustic Univox, similar to a Gibson EB-2. I got rid of it so long ago, I don't even remember what exactly I did with it.

Yep. 73 Jazz bought from a rival bands bass player in 1981 for 250.00. Don't gig with it anymore, but it will never be sold. My oldest nephew will wind up with it eventually.

Yes, I still use mine as my primary. It is an Ibanez 76 Jazz copy. New bridge and nut, but all original. I can't remeber what I bought it for, but the amp that was also purchased has been long gone.

I used to hate this bass, but now I am on a misssion to find her cousin - a 76 Ibanez PBass copy.

no ... thankfully! I hope it's burning in bass-hell, or wherever bad basses go.

Yup. Traded bass #2 to get bass #3, and Bass #4 is currently going through a elcheapo refi, but will never get rid of the original.

Yes - played it at a gig last night

My first bass is still my main bass... a Christmas present in 1979 - a 1966 Precision bass, still played at every gig, rehearsal and near daily practice.

I actually kinda hate my first bass but it's not worth the work to sell it, the tuning pegs are loose, the neck's rough, and the pups sound like a clowns horn that's gone flat, even through a rumble 350, but I still pick it up and mess around every once in awhile

Unfortunately, no. It was a "Cortez" Jazz Bass copy (looked like the Geddy Lee Fender model) that I bought in 1976, Not that it was great bass or anything, but I wish I hadn't sold it just for my own personal historical purposes. I do stll have my second bass - my beloved Kramer 650B that I bought in 1978. That's still my primary bass to this day.

Still got it. It just sits on a stand. I won't sell it since 1) Its a cheap-o and 2) my dad got it for me as a gift about 11 years ago.
