When you only have one gig booked in the month, and you get a call to do a gig FOR THE SAME DATE?

I've had a couple days where I did multiple gigs in a day.

They were super hectic, but ultimately worthwhile for getting dependability cred.

My band does play frequently but recently I had one Saturday that I could have booked 10 times over and the day before or the next Saturday I could not give away for free.

Yes - seems to always happen to me during my slow months. I will find myself cursing at my calendar and wishing I believed in god just so I'd have someone to blame...

I've done the multiple gigs thing, and I'll do it again if the gigs are right. In this case, they are 2 hours apart and 2 hours of driving (if there's no traffic) distance. Just not a good idea to try to do them both - the likelihood of some variant of Murphy's Law taking effect are too high.
I'm still bummed, though - both are gigs that would be fun.
The one we're doing (booked first) - my first gig with Funkranomicon.
The one I can't do - benefit gig for BadRap (pit bull rescue organization in SF). www.badrap.org

At the end of the month I think my band is playing about 7 shows over a 10 day period, but for the life of us we can't seem to book the Saturday in the middle.
