Neat!

And people thought I was crazy for wanting to combine a bass with a timbale!

So let it be written, so let it be done. Go forth and complete this quest that has been entrusted to you.

Oh yeah, keeps proving my point.

I still have a BP ad on and I give each of these guys a chance to tell me what their project is.

It's always mind boggling. And when they sound semi-serious, I ask them to email me a song list or a set list for an audition.

But 90% of the time, nothing comes up. They either lack gut, or talent, or both.

The Phoenix area has a lot of smart people, believe me, mostly in IT, but also a lot of idiots.

Somehow they all own a guitar and have access to the Internet.

Squire Jazz Bass Candy Apple Red - $150 (Burnsville)

Great Shape. Great eye catching metallic/Candy Apple Red color.
This bass has a couple features that most Squires don't have, which are the same as more expensive Mexican Fenders: Skunk Strip on back of neck, plus a removable/replaceable truss rod nut, so it's basically the same a s a MIM Jazz Bass.

This one's special because you can remove the truss rod nut! Sweet! I guess that my $40 Fretless Squier Affinity P-bass just got worth a lot more. And this guy's a local luthier.

Allright, so this isn't exactly a stupid ad, it's actually fairly well written, but it's just so oddball I had to share it.

Ya know, with the right type of pickup (maybe an add-in acoustic guitar pup, for example), I'd bet that those really would work.

Wow!
420 and "fruity loops"...mmmm...froot loops...
I feel untied already...

The funniest thing in a while is the "adults and guitar players" line, though.

I have no doubt that they'd work, I'm just wondering exactly what the purpose is? Not to disparage the noble spoon players out there, but how many times have you been playing in a band, live, on stage, fully mic'd and amped with your giant full stack, and said to yourself "You know what would be awesome? If we had someone playing spoons, and there was a way to amplify them"
