It starts out, you want to give it a try...something simple and low key. The sort of thing that you can get off the shelf and you can use anywhere without raising eyebrows.

Then you go for something more exotic, maybe from under the counter, it costs a bit more but you can really tell it's the good stuff.

Then you need something harder, the regular stuff just doesn't do it for you anymore. You look for hand made stuff, created in some guys shed. You buy things based on the crazy names like "Swollen Pickle" or "Muff Pi"

Then, things turn strange, you start trading stuff with guys you only know on the Internet. You order things from Norway or Denmark. Some of these things never go out of your house, partially because you don't want them to get damaged, but mostly because you are worried what the other guys will think.

Then one day your mum/girlfriend/wife finds the whole collection, and you have a LOT of explaining to do.

Then sometimes you decide to sell too much of your collection and then buy it back, not sure why, didn't need it in the first place.
