...so said the salesperson from a West LA music store.
Anybody come across some, er, "creative" pronunciations and/or spellings of brands?
...I know I've probably butchered a name or two. |

...I know I've probably butchered a name or two. | As far as I know, that's how the company name is said. Epi-fawn-ee.
However, I did run into a store that didn't know who/what a "Shadow-sky" was. |

I've heard Warwicks called "war-icks". Or Pedulla as "pe-dilla". |

"How are your quessadillas?"
Yep, pronounced as it appears. You'd think, being that it's on the menu, they'd at least teach the staff how to say it...

It should, as far as I'm aware, be pronounced "War-ick". The 2nd W is silent. That's how we pronounce it in the UK anyway, for the City and the basses.

I have some fun with them though and stump them on brands that "noone's heard of" such as....
Stewart
QSC
BBE
Accugroove
Aguilar
Glockenlang
Avatar
G&L
Bergantino
Orange
etc etc....
This is a store where the employees are full grown men, I am friends with them all, and they all play in respectable bands, a couple went to audio engineering school and records bands in a studio. These are people that have no idea about our little world!

However, since the company was founded in Germany perhaps it should be pronounced vahr-vik?

I'm even more confused about the pronunciation of "Epifani" since I read this thread. I thought it was pronounced the same as the word "epiphany". However:
chingas says "As in "Epiphany"-yes."
but
Ray Salamon say "Nope, it's not an epiphany."
and suggests "Epi-fawn-ee" which sounds really odd to me, but may nonetheless be correct.
