Anybody ever get busted for speeding in Estelline, Texas? Pretty famous speed trap here in Texas and many have donated to the city coffers.
We are playing a motorcycle rally there tonight and plan to take some of that money back home with us assuming we can get out of town without a ticket!

Ha! No sir, I haven't been to Estelline but good luck to you. If nothing else, you can at least get some good photos for the Chicks At Shows thread! That makes it all worthwhile, right?

If it is a pretty famous speed trap, how do you get caught in it? Don't you know it is there? If in doubt, use CRUISE CONTROL! Set it at exactly the speed limit and you'll never be guilty!

Sounds like one of those backwater towns that will ticket you for anything. Make sure you don't have any lights that are out, hit that cruise control, and oh yeah... be white.

as mentioned, cruise control and simply watch the speed limit--slow down as you drive through the town, speed back up as the speed limit progresses, avoid the chance

i've travelled through Estelline many times without incident

I actually got a ticket there! The speed limit reduces rapidly over a short distance. I think there's only 2 cops in the whole area...

Have fun at the gig!

Funny. There's actually a little bit about the Estelline speed trap on Wikipedia.

I remember when Selma, just north of San Antonio, had their big speed trap running. They had a drive thru window open 24/7 at the city hall to play tickets and there was usually a short wait. It has even had several mentions in country songs and such.
