I feel bad for kicking out our last drummer.

Mainly because his new band just makes me giggle.

If that person is slowing down the collective effort of the band; why feel bad?

No, if its the right decision at the time you have to just go with it. We have kicked out two guitarists out of our band and without them we have progressed way further then if we still had them. They were both dud.

Sure. It's hard to remove nice people from a situation, or someone who is invested emotionally in a project. But if there is no alternative, well, you gotta do what you gotta do. There are lots of times where doing the right thing doesn't make me feel good.

same situation as my band. my singer and i are the only original members (both guitarists and two drummers) but we're getting on big tours for 2008 and have a two album contract with a rapidly growing independant label. it's weird seeing the former bandmates at shows but what are you gonna do?

The way it usually goes is I feel bad for not kicking out a band member months earlier.
