So after a couple of years of self-taught noodling, I'd hit a plateau with my practice.
I had the rhythm locked in, but it felt pretty mechanical, and I haven't really learned very much more than some simple quarter note boogie walking lines, apart from my general exploratory noisemaking.
Today when I picked up the bass, I started playing around in new ways with my same old, same old simple lines, and found myself able to improvise new rhythm and note combinations within that scale that I've been banging away at for so long, and for the first time, really felt that my own music was coming through my hands so effortlessly that I could have fun with it, and really groove.
It was the breakthrough moment that I've been hoping for, and I really have you all at TB to thank for helping me to get concepts clear in my mind, so that my hands could learn them!

The bad news....also for the first time while playing, I caught myself in a moment of such epic bassface that it would have made Atoz proud....

....well worth it!!
