First Gig with new band tomorrow

Sign in to disble this ad
So, after a few months settling as the new Bassist of a Spanish Pop/Rock project band, tomorrow it's our first gig.

It seems quite funny to me seeing my new bandmates dying in nerves and anxiety... asking themselves everyday "oh my god... how will it go?" "Am I able to play in front of anyone?"... and all those "starter" questions. It seems funny because I remember those reactions from the bandmates of what had been my very first band, 4 years ago,, at our first gig, and I feel like revisiting those times. I've always had 0 stage fright, so I tend to look those behaviours as something... say, strange.

So, when they start asking all that ***, I only say this:
COME ON! IT'S OUR MUSIC, LET'S PLAY!

Fortunately, seems like I've been able to put this last phrase on their brains so this first gig will go perfect... and it will also serve as a rehearsal for a gig we have next tuesday on one of the most important venues in Barcelona! I'll put pics of the Gig as soon as I've got them!!!

And in a side note... I bought a bad monkey a week and a half ago at a local music store, and it hasn't arived yet, and tomorrow shops are closed for holidays... so I'm not going to use it on the gig as I hoped...

Jueves y Viernes Santo , Sabado de gloria , Pascua . In Catholic countries most business close those days .

Yay! It went perfect!!!
We had some sound issues as the drummer came late and we had to do the tests on a rush, but we solved it onstage on the go.
Otherwise, Mr. j-bass-kreep was right, that were the holidays, BUT, in Barcelona, thursday is not holiday, and were not officially a Catholic country (but we get the holidays from it as we're lazy as hell ).

Here are some pics, you can see me with my thundy and some John Mayer wannabe clothes, in the second one you can see my (tiny for the occasion) pedalboard, sadly, it doesn't have the Bad Monkey. Crap.
