First gig, no power, and bad jokes

Played our first non church gig at the county fair a few weeks ago. The power quit on us about halfway through our show and we had to result to telling jokes until the power got turned back on.

"There were two mufins in an oven, the first one says to the second one, "is it hot in here or is it just me?" the second one looks at the first one and screams "AHHH!!! Talking muffin!!!"

"There were two pretzels walking down the road, one of them was a-salted"

Baisically i guess i would suggest having some "GOOD" jokes ready at your performances.

I think those jokes are funny if you got the right audience. A corny joke routine can be hilarious if you only tell corny jokes. ( My father is a professional standup)

Yeah, one GOOD joke ruins a corny joke routine. Cory Joke routines are funnier when done right anyway.

Hmmm..... Punk at the "Church and Country Fair" - what is the world coming to? It wasn't like this in my day - Punk was confined to sweaty nightclubs and dingy warehouses, which were trashed by the band who were subsequently banned for life.

"I am the AntiChrist..... if that's alright with you Vicar? "

Punk today is not what punk used to be in the 70s, that's for sure. Punk is a lot more mainstream, more commercial, more "pop". But let's not start the punk debate all over again...

I just have this mental picture of Johnny Rotten singing "Anarchy in the UK" while Sid Vicious shoots up ...all at the local Church Fair!!

I remember in the UK , the Church declaiming punk as the work of the devil etc etc - but of course that's exactly what the punks wanted!
