Reading another post made me think of a funny thing that happened on my first couple of gigs.
First gig, age 18, playing guitar. My first solo in front of an audience - ever. I was really worried that the audience members could see my knees shaking.

The song was "All Day and All of The Night" and during the first notes of the solo - the string bend - I broke the string. I got so embarassed and turned so red I thought my ears would catch fire.
But my favorite...
Next time I was ready, and I figured I'd write the bridge of the songs on a piece of paper and tape it to the back of the PA speakers because I only had a few weeks to learn 30 songs and I would forget the middles. The song was "Bitch", I forgot my pen so I borrowed Scott Gordon's RED pen (Scott was our sound guy when he wasn't busy with Uncle Floyd), wrote the changes with it and taped it to the backside of the speaker (anyone see where this is going?).
The middle of the song Bitch comes, Scott turns on the RED stage lights for effect - and the red ink on the page becomes COMPLETELY INVISIBLE

I stuck my nose against that piece of paper but I saw nothing. I just hid behind the speaker until we got through that section.
