Nice one. Playing live is the pinnacle.

On another note, I'm surprised your drummer didn't "accidently" smash that @#$#% television with a back swing of his stick.

You're only as old as you think you are! Congrats on the gig.

Yes, it did. The guy with the microphone plays bass, too. To keep the
switches fast, we agreed to just use his bass.

Not having my trusty P Bass was a minor regret. Next time, I'll have it.

Is that sorta like the old saying "the dogs wouldn't play with him unless they tied a pork chop to him?"

(Although I see it's a Nationals game, so the lure couldn't have been that great...)

Heh. It's on my bucket list -- just as this performance was.
I'll get there but it's gonna take a little time.

Run the sound.

BTW, that's why I used his bass. There is nobody back at the soundboard to
make any adjustments if switching to my P Bass changes the sound levels.
For the bass, we used my Fender Bassman 250 into a Peavey 115 plus tied
it in to the PA (1000+ watts into two 15" speakers w/tweeters). This
allowed me to augment the bass sound through the PA as needed.
This worked out well as the singer/other bass player turned down the
Bassman 250 so he could better hear the guitar. I was able to compensate
through the PA. Next time, we won't put the bass speaker behind the
singer (lesson learned) and the Bassman 250 should be enough for the job.

This is inspirational!! This Sunday I break out my new Peavey Millenium (my first performance on a bass -- age 59) with our church's praise band. Don't think I'm ready for club work yet though!! Pray for me!!

Congrats. Looks like you also did the classic style of tavern gig, where the T.V. up in the corner rafters always have to be on for the ball game, even above the entertainment, as some of the patrons may have some betting interests to keep track of. Once again congrats, you are now in the club of bar gig vets. You are never too old to play your local bars and taverns.

This is where the Radial tonebone is perfect. You adjust the difference in levels on the tonebone.
