This is my first post here so I decided to post a story about my first show with PsyOpus.
So around January in 09, I was invited to do some touring with the metal band PsyOpus. The first show was going to be in Montreal. It was FREEZING cold. Doors opened at 8:00pm, show started at I think about 9:00pm. This was to be my first show in the band, first tour ever, first time ever being in Canada........so I was a bit nervous. The first band went on, I just sat in the back of the venue and warmed up than practiced the bands material. Arpmandude, the guitar player, did two interviews while the drummer, Jason, and the singer, Brian, watched over the merch table. The second band started to load their stuff on the stage when there was a flicker of light for a brief second. Everyone thought it was strange but forgot about it several minutes later. 5 minutes into their set, the whole venues power went out. After 10 minutes the manager came out and told us the situation being at least 5 square blocks do not have power and if he couldn't get any on soon than the show is cancelled. I started joking with Chris, telling him everything that has PsyOpus attached has gone wrong. Problems with my flight, my new amp at the time, getting the tabs, this show, everything. Finally, the owner comes out and declares that the show has been cancelled. Montreal had one of the worst snow storms in recent history. More than 10 square blocks were powerless. The band blamed it on me of course, I'm was then called Newsted from that day on.
