We were getting ready to start the 3rd set last night at this bar and grill we played and some guy asked to borrow the singer's mic for a moment. The crowd was kinda rowdy, but he called for everyone's attention. Took a minute to get it to quiet down. Then he started talking to his girlfriend, telling her how great she was, how much he loved her, etc, etc. Someone from the back of the room yelled "SHUT THE F--- UP. WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT!" But he kept going for another minute two, then got down on one knee and proposed to her right there, over the mic. LOL. She said yes.

Stunts like that can be dangerous. I saw a video clip of a guy proposing to his girl at a baseball game, with it shown live on the Jumbotron. The girl threw her beer in his face & stomped off up the stands! They showed the guy later, sitting by himself. I'm guessing she said, "No."

I hope you had a song fitting the moment in your repertoire. What did you play after that?

I play in an original heavy rock/metal band that gets local radio airplay. We had a gig in a small bar and when we showed up we found out that a couple was getting married in the bar and had requested the venue to hire us for their wedding.

I couldn't believe someone would want a metal band for a wedding but the show turned out great.
