Well, the Qintar's posts were funny because he was clearly some spotty net nerd kid - but he was posting this ridiculous macho stuff...

It's funny because it was part of a recurring trend of 'kidz' who came along and tried to act tough behind the mask of anonymity that forums like this give.

So TB was always "different" as a forum, because it wasn't just dominated by teenagers and had a core of middle-aged guys who could instantly see through any BS - but liked to play with these "upstarts" for their own amusement!

In other forums, trolls often get away with it, as the majority aren't sure whether they are real or not as they have no life experience or "wisdom"...

Anyway - the regulars liked to "play" with these trolls and the idea was to give them enough rope and then they would hang themselves !

In the Qintar's case the exaggeration was so over the top - it was ridiculous - but the joke was to hold him in awe, in order to inspire to him to even greater flights of fancy and more "baroque" creation!

Of course the joke is also around the fact that those involved will deny any of this - as it allowed them to bond - kind of like a secret society..? They were "in the know" and any newbies wouldn't have the secret knowledge - although the joke is that the "secret" is entirely worthless!!

Not a fan of Jimmy Buffett, but I'm a fan of drinking. That seems interesting. The fact that it's called the Flaming Meev just makes it funnier. Well done. Cheers.

heh.

hey you guys, lay off the meev stuff, btw. just because someone chooses not to participate anymore does not mean they are somehow not covered by the "respect all members" clause in the usage agreement. this is still an infraction offense.

Yeah, To anyone who doesn't know, the reason Meev really got flamed was because he just would kind of go around the board talking about setting basses up and repairing them like he'd been doing it for years. Not to mention he would hijack just about every thread he got on, and eventually, post those pictures of cats with them saying, like "I'z in yo computas stealin yo ramz!" and would just generally ruin peoples day.

It's been a much quieter place without him lol *not to try to talk smack, but it's all stuff he did*

speaking of hijacking....

anyway, I love it.

Miyavi is a man and Meev is his nickname.
Meev the user may have chosen his username based on Miyavi's nickname because he used to listen to jrock.

Yes, but for those of us here who like a real beer every once in a while, it kinda sucks paying $2.40 (or more) a bottle at the liq store.

^ Yeah, beer is the exception to the rule for some reason.
