Well it happened.
Playing a private party last night with our country/old rock 4 piece. Doing the song Washed My Hands in Muddy Water, that I have sang many many times, came out of the solo, got about two lines into the next verse and BAM, total brain fart, memory loss, nothing came out, totally lost as to singing the song although the bass line continued as it should have.
Rythm guitar finally picked up and threw in a couple of words, but the damage had already been done and I did it to myself. After that it felt like I was trying to play the bass with a hand with 8 fingers and all going the wrong way.
After the first break we got back on track and had a great evening, the host passed the tip jar later and we got a little over $300 in tips, so all in all it went good.
Lesson learned:
There is NOWHERE TO HIDE on stage.
Guess that is bound to happen, hopefully not on a regular basis. |

He must have sung it hundreds, if not thousands, of times. Sure enough one day, after probably having performed it 500 times, he got halfway through the song and forgot the words.
Yep, it can (and does) happen to everyone. |
