Well I'm 15, but age range is 14- 18. Not much instrument experience required, but you have to be easy to get along with too and willing to pursue music as a career.

I found this funny for some perverse reason.

I also find it funny, but can't place exactly which part I find to be funny.

+1 on that

Maybe it's because if you knew you went and responded to that ad, that it would probably be the lamest, dorkiest thing you've experienced in a long time, or maybe the extreme lack of self-esteem from the OP of that ad.

Funny because we all know that the chances of it working out is less than 1%.

Maybe it's the fact that metal usually requires some degree of proficiency on an instrument? Otherwise, it's just punk...

No, it's funny because he says that you don't need to be able to play an instrument well, but must be serious about music being your career. Those two things TOTALLY go hand in hand.

A metal band without instrumental experience is like a bike without wheels. Or a frame. Or a drive train. Or handlebars. Or a seat.

Or maybe it's because that's how we felt at 15, and know now how hard reality is. It also touches upon the fact most musicians don't like to discuss- you don't actually need to be good at your instrument to have a successful music career. We like laughing at the wide-eyed innocence, yet know in the back of minds that the project this kid starts has just as much a chance as making it big as anyone else.

That should brighten your day!

I don't know which is worse actually, a metal band made up of teens or a metal band made up of forty year olds... ok, actually metal bands tend to be funny just in general.
