Freaks and Geeks - guitarist's line

Anyone remember Freaks and Geeks? Show about high school in the 80s? We've been watching the DVDs at home and came across this gem of dialogue.

Guitarist: "We need some new songs -- how about the Ramones?"

Drummer: "Nah I hate the Ramones. All their songs have, like, three chords."

Guitarist: "OK, fine, so I'll learn another one."

Heh. Something related from a comic in the student newspaper at Texas A&M, probably in the 90s:

"They don't seem to be very good"
"Yeah, they only know one and a half chords"

Great show... I have the series on DVD. it's a shame it didn't last longer. The Rush episode was great too.

They're running the show on Independent Film Channel if you have that. It's crazy to think how big Judd Apatow, Seth Rogan, and Jason Segal got and how Linda Cardelini played Velma in the Scooby Doo movie.

In the UK there was a Punk Fanzine call "Sniffing Glue":

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sniffin%27_Glue.

One of its front covers said:

This a Chord: (Fingering diagram)
This is another Chord: (Another Fingering Diagarm)
This is a third: (guess :-))

That's three chords, now form a band!!
